Brown Boy Tuesdays

1. Babe is really critical of everyone/thing.  Often this transfers into him being critical of me.  This leads to quietness on my part (yes, I know this is unbelievable) and then he asks me what is wrong.  When I tell him he has been to critical, he gets real quiet.  I don't think he realizes he does it and when he does realize, he feels badly, instead of thinking I should take it like a good woman should.
2. If you have looked at my flickr account, you will see that Babe leaves me love notes a few times a week, on our fridge whiteboard.  He gets creative and draws and everything.
3. Babe respects my need for sleep.  Even when he is working his ass off and getting 4-5 hours a night, he lets me sleep 10 and nap for 2 without hesitation.  He knows sleeping is my key to mental health and always promotes it.
4. We had to sit for 4 hours in support of UnStepmom today.  I think most men, when I gave the option to leave, would have taken it.  He told me how we need to support her.  I love that he is such a family man.
5. Babe is not caving to the pressure to have kids.  He tells me if I want a MSN first, then that is what we will do.  If I just want to wait, just because, then that is fine too.

Brown Boy Tuesdays

1. Babe has the cutest butt of any man I have ever known, ever.  He claims it is all due to the stairmaster
2. Even though it annoys me sometimes, he always wants to improve our relationhip, often by talking A LOT
3. He engages me in retail therapy whenever I feel shitty.
4. He gives the best hugs around and is not stingy with them.
5. He never stops trying.

Brown Boy Tuesdays

This is what I am loving about my Brown Boy this last week:

1. When I have insomnia, he cant sleep either.  He knows insomnia doesn't mean good things for me and always tries to problem solve it with me.
2. He cleans the kitchen, even when it my turn because he knows it stresses me out to have a dirty kitchen.
3. As much as he loves me to cook, he never shows disappointment when I tell him I just cannot do it today, and asks where I want to eat.  Always.
4. He has left the toilet seat up ONE TIME in the 4 years that I have lived with him and that was because he was "teaching me a lesson," in retribution for my smartassness.
5. We are going away for the weekend for Valentine's Day to a place Babe found all by himself.

Brown Boy Tuesday

I am starting a new continuing series: Brown Boy Tuesdays.  On Tuesdays I am going to try to lay out 5 things Babe did in the past week, which only make me love him more.

1. This morning while I lie awake at 3:30am for the day, I realized how when he is sleeping he reaches out for me and holds me so tight.  Tight like he will never stop loving me.
2. Babe is obsessed with spending time together.  Sometimes I want a little more me time, but when I hear so many complaints from people around me that their spouse has no time for them, I am thankful.
3. Babe listens to my country music (he hates it) for at least 15 minutes before changing the radio station and then he only changes it to something neutral, not the hard hitting bass he enjoys.
4. My parents are acutely ill right now and he keeps thinking of ways to help them.  I think he really misses them though.  That is cute as well.
5. He lets me kiss the soft part under his left eye, even though it annoys him.
